15 remedies for preventing pressure sores

Pressure sores occur as a result of extended pressure on the skin and underlying tissues. In most cases, this is usually brought about by inactivity such as laying or sitting in one set position.

Wheelchair users and bed-ridden patients tend to be at the most risk. An ability to actively get up and move around can ultimately lead to sores.

That doesn’t mean that there’s nothing you can do about them, though. Here are 15 ways to preventing pressure sores.

If you’re laying down, switch between your back and side at regular intervals.
If you’re sitting down, try and shift your weight or change your positon routinely. Aim for every half hour at most.
If you need help to do this don’t be afraid to ask. It’s much better than dealing with a sore.
