The Centre of African Studies of the University of London invites applications from Nigerian academics to take part in a scheme of collaborative research funded by the Leventis Foundation.
The Leventis Research Co-operation Programme is devised to assist younger scholars in developing their research interests in collaboration with their counterparts in London. People can apply to be guests at the Center for African Studies for three months to research in the libraries and archives and participate in the Center’s intellectual life.

Aims and Benefits of the SOAS University of London Leventis Fellowship
Applicants are invited to apply to spend three months as visitors of the Center for African Studies to pursue their research in libraries and archives and to participate in the intellectual life of the Center.
Qualification for the SOAS University of London Leventis Fellowship
The scheme may be beneficial for scholars preparing a Ph.D. thesis for publication.

A steering committee considers applications in London. Soon after the March 31 deadline, emails will be sent to applicants informing them of the committee’s decision.
Documents Required for the Application
- A complete curriculum vitae (maximum two pages)
- A statement of current research interests (of not more than 1,000 words) specifying the aims to be achieved during the research period in London
- One academic reference letter supporting the application
